Job Summary
Support Nebraska teachers in strengthening literacy instruction through modeling, feedback, collaboration, and strategic professional learning. Deliver high-quality professional development sessions, conduct classroom observations, and provide actionable, constructive feedback. Model lessons or co-teach to demonstrate best practices in foundational literacy, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. Analyze student data to identify instructional needs and support interventions while collaborating with school teams to improve planning and outcomes. Build relationships that promote trust, sustained improvement, and excellence in Secondary ELA standards implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of Secondary ELA standards
- Strong background in early literacy, structured literacy, or science of reading
- Experience coaching teachers or leading literacy initiatives
- Ability to analyze and use student data effectively
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Experience as a reading specialist, literacy coach, curriculum coordinator, instructional leader, or veteran ELA teacher
