Job Summary
Conduct Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on aerospace components, including setup, calibration, and evaluation of results. Interpret inspection indications against acceptance criteria, prepare reports and certifications, and verify equipment calibration. Identify nonconforming material, review engineering drawings, and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Assist with training Level I technicians and maintain equipment cleanliness while adhering to NAS410 and safety requirements. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Current or previously certified Level II in FPI and UT in accordance with NAS410, SNT-TC-1A, or equivalent employer-based certification program.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of NDT inspection experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and process instructions.
- Working knowledge of NDT standards, procedures, and quality system requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inspection reporting systems.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to distinguish colors and contrast as required for FPI evaluations.
- Visual acuity sufficient to perform inspections and interpret indications.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Additional NDT certifications (MT, ET, RT, VT, etc.).
- Experience with customer specifications from major aerospace OEMs.
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and audits.
