Job Summary
NDT Technician on Nights responsible for penetrant and radiographic inspections to ensure parts meet manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Responsibilities include set-up and operation of penetrant inspection, inspecting parts to engineering and customer standards, maintaining accurate documentation, visually inspecting parts for burrs/damage, identifying parts per planning specifications, ensuring reliable records, communicating shift requirements, routine maintenance of equipment, maintaining a clean cellular manufacturing area, ensuring continuous flow of materials, adhering to safety standards, and upholding the Company Quality Policy. Qualifications include high school or GED, 1-3 years in manufacturing quality inspection, NDI/NDT experience preferred, Level 1 Penetrant/X-ray/Mag Particle certifications preferred but not required, ability to read blueprints, GD&T familiarity, use of common measurement tools, strong attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle related physical requirements. U.S. citizenship is required and the position may require eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- 1-3 years working in a manufacturing quality inspection role
- Experience working with NDI or NDT practices preferred
- Level 1 Penetrant, X-Ray, Mag Particle certification preferred but not required
- read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions
- Familiar with GD&T specifications and capable of performing basic inspections based on engineering drawings
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators
