Job Summary
Conduct NDT examinations of materials in accordance with NAVSEA procedures, codes, and specifications. Supervise assigned personnel, ensure proper equipment utilization, and guide trainees while preparing written reports and instructions. Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope and priorities, actively participating in safety programs. Work independently in industrial environments, including heights, confined spaces, and around operating equipment, lifting up to 100 pounds. Requires Level III UTSW certification, valid driver's license, and background check clearance. Schedule involves shifts up to 12 hours daily, seven days a week, with OT as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Level III Technicians – Meet the minimum requirements of an NDT Level III UTSW Technician
- provide documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s)
- have a working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes
- ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to report issues and solve problems
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Applicants must pass a drug screen
- have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a required extensive background check for access to the shipyard
- A 'U.S. Person' (U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. lawful permanent residents, persons granted refugee status, or persons granted asylum in the United States)
Desired Qualifications
- NAVSEA and/or shipyard work experience preferred
- Additional NDT certs are a plus but not required
