Job Summary
Conduct material examinations in accordance with procedures, codes, and specifications. Interface with department managers and clients to determine work scope and priorities. Prepare written instructions and organize examination results. Guide trainees and exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors. This role requires NDT Level II certification with UT Shearwave and some PAUT experience. Applicants must be U.S. persons due to ITAR compliance. Work shifts up to 12 hours daily, seven days a week, including travel and work in confined spaces or around operating equipment.
Required Qualifications
- NDT Level II Technicians
- UT Shearwave Certs
- PAUT experience
- Must be local to Chesapeake, VA or willing to relocate to a commutable distance to ATS Chesapeake, VA
- Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- U.S. Persons
- Ability to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
- Ability to work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
- Ability to work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
- Ability to work around operating equipment and industrial environments
- Ability to work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week
- Travel for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds
- Meet the minimum requirements of an NDT Level II
- Documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s)
- Working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes
- Ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to report issues and solve problems
