Job Summary
Perform examinations of materials in accordance with procedures, codes, standards, and specifications for castings inspections. Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope of work and priorities, then prepare written instructions and report examination results. Exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees while working independently to support team members. This contract assignment near Cleveland, OH, requires any shift availability, including up to 12-hour days and 7-day weeks, with potential travel between regional locations. Candidates must hold NDT Level II PT (FPI) certification per NAS-410, possess a valid driver's license, and pass a drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- NDT Level II PT (FPI) Technician per NAS-410
- documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s)
- working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes
- ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to report issues and solve problems
- Castings inspection experience with PT (FPI)
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- pass a drug screen
- valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- U.S. Persons status (U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. lawful permanent residents, persons granted refugee status, or persons granted asylum in the United States)
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
- Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
- Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
- Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments
- Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week
- Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds
- Must be willing to travel between locations as needed
