Job Summary
Perform Non-destructive testing of military and commercial aircraft parts/components to ensure product quality and safety in accordance with Quality Management System along with regulatory and customer requirements. Participate in problem solving efforts to develop and implement solutions within a team environment. Self-starter with acute attention to detail is a must. Responsibilities include applying NDT inspections (magnetic particle and dye penetrant) with the appropriate equipment, interpreting engineering drawings and regulatory documentation (NAS410, aviation regs), and contributing to continuous quality improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 certification in magnetic particle and dye penetrant NDT inspection methods
- Ability to use one or more types of applicable NDT equipment
- Minimum 3 years NDT experience
- Working knowledge and familiarity with calibrated inspection tools (micrometer, ball gauges, Vernier calipers, depth gauge)
- Basic understanding of quality and inspection concepts/methodology related to product safety
- Read, understand and interpret aviation regulations, airworthiness directives
- Documentation required for NDT inspector operations under NAS410
- Basic use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 AS9100/9110 (Preferred)
- Basic knowledge and understanding of 14 CFR part145 (Preferred)
- Basic understanding of government and customer source inspection process (Preferred)
- Aviation maintenance experience (Preferred)
- ASNT certification (Preferred)
- General knowledge of NDT methods used in a repair/overhaul environment (Preferred)
