NDMV AmeriCorps Financial Empowerment Associate

Job Summary
Conduct one-to-one financial assessments and counseling for refugee clients, developing household budgets and connecting them to economic empowerment services. Deliver group workshops on financial literacy topics including banking, budgeting, credit building, and debt management. Assist clients with opening accounts and support the microlending program by helping obtain loans for education, training, personal needs, and business ventures. Maintain client files and ensure timely compliance with all reporting requirements. This 11-month Notre Dame Mission Volunteer position reports to the Manager of Economic Empowerment and requires a valid driver's license and full-year commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong understanding of personal finances
- Ability to effectively counsel clients
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Proven success achieving goals
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff in a multicultural environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle
- Current insurance
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Age of at least 18 years
- Commitment to one full year of service
