Job Summary
NDIS Support Worker role based at James Barker Aged Care Centre in Footscray, VIC. As part of a casual day-shift team (8am–4pm) you’ll encourage community participation, prevent social isolation, and create/ facilitate engaging activities at home or in the community. You’ll promote choice, independence, and respect while collaborating with participants and their Support Coordinators to develop tailored support plans. The position supports people with disabilities and requires a Certificate III in Disability or equivalent, with practical experience, strong communication, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills; a valid driver’s license and First Aid, plus NDIS Worker Screening Check and orientation. The role includes salary packaging benefits and access to learning and development opportunities, and is offered as a casual, part-time engagement with shifts on weekdays and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Mental Health, or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience supporting people with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills
- Confidence using technology for documentation and communication
- A current driver’s license and insured vehicle
- A current First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Worker Orientation Module completion
