Job Summary

NDE Level II Inspector – Radiography Testing (Falcon) responsible for performing surface and volumetric NDE inspections, interpreting, evaluating, communicating, and reporting findings to production/engineering teams, reviewing engineering drawings, and supporting development of NDE inspection techniques and future ultrasonic technology. Will assist in training others and work within SpaceX’s Falcon/Dragon/Starship/Raptor programs. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and NDE Level II RT certification per ASNT-TC-1A/NAS-410/DoD guidance; 2+ years of Level II NDE/NDT experience and proficiency across UT, PAUT, ET, DR, and CR methods, plus familiarity with relevant standards (NASA 5009, AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM) and basic lean concepts. Shift options include first, second, and weekend shifts; overtime/weekend availability. Compensation ranges by grade from $25-$60 per hour with total rewards including benefits and stock options; ITAR compliance and equal opportunity employer. Training and development within the team, ability to interpret complex geometries and support R&D in ultrasonic technology are emphasized.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • NDE level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) in line with ASNT-TC-1A or NAS-410 or DoD guidance
  • 2+ years of experience as a level II NDE/NDT inspector
  • Nondestructive evaluation Level II certification in one or more methods: Ultrasonic (UT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Eddy Current (ET), Digital Radiography (DR), or Computed Radiography (CR)
  • Operational experience inspecting weldments and castings
  • Knowledge of UTEX InspectionWare or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with portable digital equipment (e.g., Olympus EPOCH 600)
  • Knowledge of NASA 5009, AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM standards
  • Experience with PPS and 8D problem solving
  • Basic understanding of lean principles (5S, kaizen)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform other physical requirements
