Job Summary
Read and interpret deeds, plats, sketches, specifications, and construction drawings to prepare schematic, design development, and final construction drawings for residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure projects. Work under the direction of lead CAD staff to maintain standards, manage project files, and apply agency regulations to grading, drainage, and utility designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Create 3D surface models, corridor designs for roadway profiles, and produce construction exhibits, one-line drawings, and concept plans while utilizing Adobe/Bluebeam to markup existing PDFs. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in civil engineering drafting for land development and/or municipal development projects
- Understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design practices
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D in a developmental Design capacity
- General knowledge of schematic, design development, and final (construction) drawings
- General knowledge of modeling for roadway design
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Strong organizational, communication teamwork skills
- Understanding of earthwork calculations through surface comparisons
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of technical school with CAD design certificate or associate degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering field
- Experience in the Following is Preferred: Adobe/Bluebeam
