Job Summary
Advocate school gardens within the community by engaging teachers, administrators, students, parents, and volunteers to promote involvement. Coordinate garden activities, manage layouts, and ensure compliance with facilities standards and Farm to School guidelines. Direct the garden market, document inventory and revenue, and establish work schedules for student gardeners and volunteers. Instruct all workers on safety training and maintain the garden through watering, weeding, planting, and harvesting. Promote the district's health and wellness curriculum and publicize program objectives to staff and community members.
Required Qualifications
- Job related experience
- Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area
- Valid Driver's License
- Evidence of Insurability
- Kansas Bureau of Investigations clearance
- Social & Rehabilitation Services clearance
- Non Exempt employment classification
- Adhering to safety practices
- Operating gardening equipment/tools
- Planning and managing projects
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records
- Use pertinent software applications
