Job Summary
Navy Nuke Data Center Facility Technician role focusing on implementing and supporting critical power and cooling solutions for mission-critical data centers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and running diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on data-center infrastructure (including medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS, PDU, CRAC/CRAH cooling, and building monitoring systems); developing analyses and project plans; performing annual service on state-of-the-art critical systems; reviewing schematics and one-line diagrams; ensuring adherence to MOPs/SOPs; and coordinating with teams to maintain 99.999% uptime in a 24x7x365 operation. Navy Nuclear-trained personnel (EMN/ETN/MMN) or equivalent naval nuclear experience with strong technical knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and effective communication skills are highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Navy Nuke trained: EMN (Electricians Mate Nuclear), ETN (Electrical Technician Nuclear), MMN (Machinist Mate Nuclear) or equivalent naval nuclear training
- experience with electrical/mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, HVAC/CRAC/CRAH, DC power)
- ability to troubleshoot, run diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on critical facilities equipment
- ability to review schematics and one-line diagrams
- strong verbal and written communications skills
- data center facilities operations experience a plus
- military nuclear background preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Navy Nuke EMN, MMN, or ETN preferred
- transition into a Data Center Power / Cooling Systems Engineer
- experience with electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities
- ability to troubleshoot, run diagnostics, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on critical facilities equipment
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH), DC power systems, and building monitoring/control systems
- data center facilities operations experience a plus
- willingness to work in a 24x7x365 operation environment
- ability to review schematics and one-line diagrams
- ability to lead and direct technical/administrative tasks related to facility infrastructure compliance
- military nuclear training or experience considered valuable
