Job Summary
Direct and evaluate student learning in curricular and extracurricular activities, including teaching the Naval Science curriculum and instructing cadets in military drill. Mentor students, manage government-furnished equipment, and plan extracurricular events such as drill teams and field trips. Maintain financial accounts for the NJROTC program, keep current with Navy developments, and complete required training while adhering to NSTC policies. Work 246 days within Horry County Schools, requiring a Bachelor's degree, NSTC certification, and at least eight years of active duty service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- at least 8 years of active duty in the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard
- Separated from services within the past 5 years
- 8 years of creditable services and an active member of Navy Reserves
- certified to teach JROTC by HQ Naval Education and Training Command
- Certification as required by Naval Service Training Command (NSTC)
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree
- Physically capable of frequently lifting or moving up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Manual dexterity for the purpose of using a telephone and data entry
- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone
