Job Summary
The Navigation/IMU Engineer II will support the selection and integration of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) into navigation subsystems, requiring a strong understanding of IMUs and their performance testing. Responsibilities include analyzing IMU performance data, developing test plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must have experience in electrical engineering fundamentals and systems engineering, along with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least two years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with Electrical Engineering fundamentals, subsystems and systems engineering
- Ability to take requirements and select the appropriate IMU for use in products
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with IMUs, GPS, Guidance and Navigation computers, seekers and sensors
- Background in how components are integrated in a system to guide a missile to a target
- Experience in systems engineering and architecture with a desire to grow into a guidance section architect
- Experience with Fiber Optic gyros, Ring Laser Gyros, and MEMs gyros
- Experience with mechanical and solid state accelerometers
- Experience working with missiles or similar systems
- Ability to drive suppliers in meeting commitments
- Knowledge of DOD Hardware development process (knowledge of design gates)
- Practical experience in all phases of the product lifecycle

- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
