Job Summary
Develop detailed UUV design concepts to meet specified performance criteria, conducting computational analysis and physical model testing to evaluate and optimize designs. Produce detailed design drawings and specifications, manage material selection, and lead prototype development. Execute sea trial design, analysis, and reporting while continuously optimizing UUVs through development cycles. This role focuses on designing a bespoke unmanned underwater vehicle for a large-scale autonomous ocean bottom seismic data acquisition system, aiming to reduce acquisition costs and risks.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering
- proven industry experience
- Previous Unmanned Underwater vehicle (UUV) design & development experience
- The ability to work in the UK
Desired Qualifications
- Honours or Masters in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering
- Extensive experience in UUV design
- Unmanned surface vessel (USV) design experience
- Subsea product development experience
