Job Summary
Plan, direct, and coordinate software development for mission-critical NAVAIR aircraft systems, simulation tools, and distributed software applications. Lead multiple programs covering development, test, and sustainment while prioritizing resources and allocating projects with architectural support. Participate in strategic technology decisions, assess architecture improvements, and ensure adherence to modern software practices and DoD standards. Organize project plans defining goals, strategies, milestones, risks, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery. Make staffing decisions, including hiring and placement, and support business development activities such as marketing, capture, and proposal writing. Provide strategic leadership to drive business growth and collaborate with external organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or MIS, and 10-12 years of related work experience
- Master's degree and 8-10 years of related work experience
- 5+ years in a supervisory capacity
- Top Secret clearance
- At least five (5) years of experience in Software/Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration and system testing of computer hardware and software
- Knowledge of DoW and DoN SW development standards and practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with NAVAIR programs
- Familiarity with competitive landscape at Pax River and NAVAIR as well as familiarity with NAVAIR acquisition
