Job Summary
Nature Consultant to support global clients in navigating regulatory and voluntary frameworks related to forest risk, land-use change, and supply chains; responsibilities include advancing forest-positive strategies, regulatory advisory (EUDR, SBTN), DIRO assessments, data and traceability, reporting frameworks, and business development; requires 3+ years sustainability experience with a focus on forestry/land-use, experience with EUDR and SBTN targets, TNFD-aligned risk assessments, and fluency in Spanish and English; location: Rome, Italy with hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in sustainability, with a focus on forestry, land use, or forest-risk commodity supply chains
- Experience with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) or similar due diligence frameworks (traceability, geolocation, risk assessment)
- Familiarity with SBTN (Science Based Targets Network), particularly land and freshwater targets, and the No Conversion of Natural Ecosystems target
- Experience conducting or supporting nature-related risk assessments (DIRO) aligned with TNFD or similar frameworks
- Deep understanding of forest-positive strategies, no-deforestation/no-conversion commitments, and supply chain transformation
- Familiarity with the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) guidance and its practical implementation
