Job Summary
Conduct technical advice and assistance by preparing and monitoring plans to assess natural resources, carrying out investigations into complex resource concerns, and implementing land improvement projects using specialized techniques. Evaluate performance, recommend alternatives, and prepare project files to estimate materials and supplies while ensuring data quality and integrity. Support an interdisciplinary team by drafting analysis of potential impacts to natural resources, coordinating collaboration with BLM staff, government representatives, and public land user groups, and providing on-the-job training for habitat monitoring and wildfire data management. Perform program support duties by advising state or field leadership on natural resources concerns and serving as the initial point of contact for local natural resources groups to resolve day-to-day issues. This role involves 85% technical advice, 10% program support, and 5% other assigned duties. Requires a minimum of 20 years in agronomy and surface use multi-resource impact analysis, proficiency in ArcGIS and MS Office, and experience with impact analysis of surface use and reclamation.

- The office work is primarily sedentary and may require walking, standing, and carrying light items, such as books, small instruments or samples and other similar materials
- While at the field office, the incumbent may occasionally lift materials such as fence posts, barbed wire, and seedbags, etc. requiring lifting loads up to 50 pounds
- Field duties involve long hours of driving, hiking, climbing, and other forms of outdoor physical activities in remote locations
- Occassional project construction work may be physically demanding, such as building or removing fences, constructing wildlife guzzlers, developing springs, etc
- Field work will involve outdoor exposure including some discomfort in extremes of temperature or inclement weather
- Field work may subject the enrollee to hostile wildlife and physical hazards
