Job Summary
Natural Gas Scheduler at PETRONAS Canada coordinates scheduling of natural gas through pipelines and storage facilities, together with customers and pipeline operators to ensure smooth flow. Responsibilities include creating/executing daily schedules, monitoring pipeline activity, tracking curtailments/operational issues, performing gas buy/sell activities to balance accounts (including weekends), setting up daily/monthly sales and analyzing forecast data, and processing monthly invoicing. Collaboration with Operations, Production, Finance, and Accounting is required. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, or Engineering and 3+ years of oil and gas experience; strong analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and possess commercial acumen in North American commodity markets, with emphasis on Canada. The role offers flexible work arrangements and an office-based Calgary environment with on-call expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in Upstream
- Experience in natural gas, scheduling, or related roles is preferred
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data
- Sense of urgency with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of commodity markets in North America, with focus on Canada
- Ability to forge, grow, and sustain positive relationships with diverse groups
