Job Summary
Lead field crews on natural gas distribution projects, focusing on the installation and maintenance of 8-inch plastic mains and related components. Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols, company procedures, and industry standards while coordinating daily work assignments and providing hands-on guidance. Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors, monitoring progress and troubleshooting issues to meet schedules. Maintain accurate documentation including timesheets, production reports, and as-built drawings. Train crew members in safe work practices and mentor them in job-specific skills. Conduct ongoing safety observations to address hazards immediately. Requires sustained physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds and working under varying environmental conditions. Valid driver's license and ability to read blueprints are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of natural gas distribution installation techniques and compliance standards
- Ability to lead crews effectively and maintain accountability for work performance and quality
- Minimum 3+ years of field experience as a foreman overseeing gas distribution projects
- At least 2+ years of experience with gas-pipeline construction and replacement work
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and as-built drawings
- Excellent stamina, agility, and physical resilience
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform prolonged walking and standing
- Must be able to perform strenuous tasks under varying environmental conditions
