Job Summary
Native American Education Specialist provides site-based liaison support, plans and oversees parent/family activities to improve student academic achievement and parent involvement, coordinates services with school personnel and community resources to meet student needs, enhances home-school communication, maintains confidential student records, and assists in translation between school personnel, students, parents, and community members. Responsibilities include coordinating culturally appropriate information and resources through committees and events, monitoring the Indian Education Title VI Grant to raise academic achievement for Native American students, and facilitating family understanding of school policies and available services. Requires High School Diploma or GED (bachelor’s/master’s degree preferred), at least one year of experience in a culturally diverse setting, AZ DPS fingerprint clearance, knowledge of local resources, and a valid Arizona driver’s license.
