Job Summary
National Technical Specialist - Dams, Levees, Hydraulic Structures & Coastal Infrastructure: senior technical leader responsible for shaping FNI's Water Resources Design practice nationally, providing technical leadership on high-hazard dams, levees, and coastal hydraulic structures, mentoring engineers, supporting strategic pursuits, and representing the firm in national technical forums. Responsibilities include risk-informed analysis and design, dam/levee safety studies, constructability reviews, quality delivery, standards development, staff mentorship, and client-facing strategy. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in engineering, a Master’s degree (preferred), PE licensure, 15+ years of experience with recognized expertise, and active engagement in professional organizations. Hybrid work with up to 40% remote; multiple US office locations available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Professional Engineer in state of residence required with ability to obtain in other states within 6 months
- 15+ years of experience (preferred) with leadership ability
- Recognized expertise in area of specialization
- Active involvement in industry organizations with leadership positions preferred
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and client-facing capabilities
- Experience with risk-informed design, PFMA facilitation, and dam/levee safety studies
- Experience with quality delivery standards, design reviews, and develop technical guidance
- Ability to develop proposals, technical approaches, and lead technical teams
- Hybrid work environment with up to 40% remote work
- Locations across multiple US offices
