Job Summary

National Technical Analyst to coordinate cross-sector planning, district spatial planning, forestry restoration and protected area oversight in Uzbekistan. The role focuses on integrating technical quality, compliance with UNDP and GEF requirements, and alignment with the Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Program. Responsibilities include planning, reporting, technical coordination of consultants and contractors, and oversight of cross-sector and district spatial planning, forestry activities, and PA restoration. The analyst will lead GIS/databases, data management, and dissemination of GIS products, while ensuring consultation with national partners, stakeholder engagement, and timely progress reporting. Key tasks include developing district spatial plans, updating Forestry Enterprise Management Plans, leading restoration demonstrations, identifying High Conservation Value forests, developing conservation management proposals, supporting PA management plan updates and METT scoring, applying the Green Standard in Protected Areas, and ensuring results-based monitoring and communication of project results. Competencies emphasize strategic thinking, decision making, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications point toward extensive coordination and technical management within environmental planning and restoration contexts, with emphasis on gender-responsive outcomes and multi-stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating cross-sector planning
  • Technical coordination experience in forestry restoration or environmental management
  • GIS/Data management experience
  • Stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
  • Monitoring and reporting expertise
  • Knowledge of protected areas and biodiversity concepts (PA, OECMs, METT)
  • Ability to work with international partners and national counterparts
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Ability to prepare inputs for PIRs and donor reporting
  • Fluency in English and/or Russian preferred
