Job Summary
Monitor and analyze financial transactions, accounting reports, and reconciliations to ensure accurate compliance with UNFPA policies. Administer financial transactions for the Regular Budget and HR budget, preparing monthly utilization reports and salary projections for senior management. Guide Implementing Partners and staff on financial procedures, internal controls, and HACT assurance activities while leading audit coordination and spot-check follow-ups. Develop financial tracking tools to enhance performance visibility and ensure timely year-end closure. Supervise the finance unit and mentor junior staff to maintain technical capacity and adherence to organizational rules.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration with a focus on Finance, Economics, Public Financial Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience of relevant finance field
- Proficiency in English and Arabic
- Knowledge of UN financial regulations, IPSAS, HACT, donor reporting, and internal controls
- Familiarity with UN/UNFPA software, including ERP tools (e.g. Quantum & Quantum+ including Power BI, UNAll)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and visualize data for reporting and learning purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification in accounting/finance
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- relevant finance experience at the UN or international organizations
- Proficiency in French
