Job Summary
The National Project Manager oversees the day-to-day management of the SAFE Project in the Solomon Islands on behalf of the Implementing Partner, leads the Project Management Unit, supervises project staff and consultants, mobilizes inputs, and ensures progress reporting to the Project Board and UNDP. The role includes coordinating with government officials, partners, and stakeholders; providing technical oversight across multiple provinces; developing baselines, indicators, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks; and managing project activities, risks, budgets, and knowledge products to support resilient biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods. The incumbent collaborates with the SAFE Project PMU, UNDP, and partners to advance project objectives, Partnerships, and communications to raise visibility and drive results.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Operational Management, Sustainable Land Management or related fields is required, OR
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Social Sciences, Operational Management, Sustainable Land Management or related fields with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of an advanced university degree.
