Job Summary
Lead the stewardship of New Zealand's largest public asset portfolio by defining, managing, and optimizing network performance for state highways and rapid transit. Develop and implement the State Highway Asset Management Plan, including network definition, asset standards, and quality assurance frameworks to ensure consistent performance across existing assets and new infrastructure. Drive the use of asset intelligence, analytics, and digital technologies to strengthen evidence-based decision-making for prioritizing, planning, and optimizing investment, maintenance, and operational activity. Embed digital enablement and continuous improvement into asset management processes while collaborating with the Infrastructure Development & Delivery Group to integrate planning and delivery decisions focused on whole-of-life asset performance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience, including the ability to lead through others and turn strategy into clear priorities, plans and outcomes in a large, complex organisation
- Deep asset management leadership experience, including whole-of-life planning and balancing service levels, risk, resilience, cost and long-term value across a complex asset portfolio
- A strong understanding of asset management systems, standards, assurance, lifecycle governance, network operations and the wider transport system
- Experience developing and embedding standards, plans, frameworks or performance approaches that improve consistency, safety, resilience and value for money
- Proven ability to use asset intelligence, condition data, evidence and performance insights to inform investment, maintenance and operational decisions and interventions
- A track record of building credibility and influencing senior stakeholders, partners and sector groups to deliver joined-up outcomes
- Tertiary qualifications at postgraduate level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- A legal right to live and work in New Zealand
