Job Summary
Provide care and treatment to patients with chronic renal disease, including initiating and terminating treatments, connecting catheters, and performing pre- and post-treatment physical assessments. Administer medications as ordered by the physician, complete monthly medication profile reviews, and assist with anemia management protocols. Set up dialysis machines, ensure quality control and disinfection, and participate in infection control monitoring. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for patient rounds, care planning, and education. Supervise Patient Care Technicians and demonstrate effective staffing ratios per state regulations. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws while promoting GUEST customer service standards.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Knowledge of and comply with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including health care professionals practice act requirements
- Perform duties at all times within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Complete patient admission process as outlined in policy and procedure
- Complete pre and post treatment physical assessments
- Initiate and terminate patient treatments to include connecting and disconnecting catheters and cleaning catheter sites per protocol
- Set up dialysis machines
- Clean, disinfect and provide quality control of dialysis machines as required by policy and procedures
- Participate in infection control monitoring, implementation, and recording
- Use personal protective equipment as necessary
- Be familiar with emergency equipment and all emergency operational procedures
- Demonstrates effective staffing, as appropriate with staffing ratios per state regulations and effective patient care, under the direction of the Administrator
- Regular and reliable attendance
