National Construction Safety Officer - Calgary

Job Summary
Promote a corporate culture of health and safety by conducting site visits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations while monitoring compliance for workers and subcontractors. Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to implement corrective measures, arrange safety meetings, and administer discipline based on identified unsafe acts. Ensure all accidents are properly reported and tracked for metrics while maintaining current knowledge of WCB Alberta and OH&S legislation. Assist in developing Job Hazard Analysis documents and ensure Certificate of Recognition requirements are met. Administer first-aid as necessary and commit to full-time employment in Calgary.
Required Qualifications
- Certified National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
- Knowledge and understanding of COR
- A minimum of 3+ years of high-rise experience as a CSO
- Solid knowledge of WCB Alberta regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards
- A proactive approach to safety
- A strong team player attitude with the ability to effectively adjust to changing priorities and demands
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean abstract
- Occupational First Aid Level 1
- Must own PPE
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based atmosphere
- Excellent organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize
