National Advisor – Child Protection

Job Summary
Provide technical support to the ChildFund Myanmar team by developing project concept notes, managing risk assessments, and coordinating partner empowerment activities. Deliver high-volume trainings to staff and partners on child protection topics while assessing and adapting existing curriculum materials. Act as the focal point for child safeguarding policy compliance, managing case flows from start to close and ensuring regular training for staff and partner organizations. Represent ChildFund in national working groups to coordinate with NGOs, universities, and relevant authorities, while maintaining delegated responsibility for external agency engagements. This role involves working closely with the country program team, partners in Yangon, and the Sydney-based advisor.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, community development or related discipline
- Strong technical background in child protection, social work or psychology
- At least five years of professional work experience at national and sub-national levels in the field of child protection programming
- Strong experience in developing participatory training curriculum and materials
- Significant experience in facilitating training, including those with children, and guiding and mentoring others in the area of expertise
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of actors - from government personnel, ChildFund staff (all levels), communities and sector stakeholders
- High-level of report writing and presentation skills in English and Myanmar
- The right to work in Myanmar
- Adherence to written confidentiality policy/agreement
- Some local and international travel
- Permanent appointment to this position is dependent upon successful completion of a Reference Checks
