Job Summary
National Account Sales Manager responsible for opening and growing national retail accounts (Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Target, Sam’s Club, Aldi, Barnes & Noble) with 7+ years in national account sales; travel ~25% including Richmond HQ visits; remote position; hunter mentality; collaborate with product development, merchandising, sourcing; manage $10MM+ opportunities and $20MM+ growth; build executive relationships; lead presentations, line reviews, negotiations, assortment planning, forecasting; experience with overseas sourcing; strong communication and negotiation skills; background in Home Décor/Garden/Seasonal categories; salary between $100k-$300k/year.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of successful national account sales experience with major brick-and-mortar retailers
- Hunter mentality with demonstrated success opening and growing large retail accounts
- Existing relationships with buyers, merchants, or sourcing teams within Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Target, Sam’s Club, Aldi, Barnes & Noble, or similar national retailers
- Experience managing a minimum annual business volume of $10MM with the ability to scale accounts beyond $20MM+
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with overseas factories, global sourcing partners, and/or retailer overseas sourcing offices
- Background within Home Décor, Garden, Outdoor Living, Seasonal, Gift, Housewares, or related consumer product categories
- Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings, retailer presentations, trade shows, sourcing collaboration, and company meetings in Virginia
- Proven track record as a sales professional focused on opening and growing new national retail accounts
