Job Summary
National Account Manager responsible for growing a branded business with national retail partners in the pet category. Own accounts, deliver sales, spending and distribution targets, and develop joint business plans (JBPs) with merchants to drive growth through innovation, assortment expansion, and in-store execution. Lead forecasting, promotional planning, and trade spend management to achieve financial goals while maintaining brand integrity. Build relationships with buying, merchandising, and marketing teams as the primary business contact; collaborate with the digital team to drive eCommerce growth and optimize performance on customer sites. Execute pricing, promotion, and trade strategies aligned with brand objectives and channel strategy; coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time, in-full delivery and service level excellence. Monitor competitive activity and provide strategic insights to inform pricing, product innovation, and promotional strategy. Represent the company at line reviews, trade shows, and key category planning meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 5–8 years of CPG sales experience
- 3+ years managing key national accounts
- 3+ years of pet sales experience
- Proven track record of growing branded business within retail partners
- Strong analytical, financial acumen, and strategic planning skills
- Experience working with IRI/Nielsen
- Passion for pets and the pet industry strongly preferred
