Job Summary
National Account Executive for Meet Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Convention Center leads sales efforts to promote MCC and the City of Minneapolis as destinations for meetings, conventions, and events. Responsible for achieving revenue targets, actively prospecting, generating proposals, negotiating and managing client agreements, coordinating bid proposals and site inspections, and maintaining relationships with planners, hotels, and local businesses. Requires a four-year degree (or equivalent experience) and at least three years of hospitality sales experience; ability to travel evenings, weekends, and holidays; strong communication, budgeting, analytical, and presentation skills; comfortable with hybrid work (60% in-office, 40% remote); travel for client meetings and trade shows; proficiency with databases and sales tools.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree from an academic institution, business or hospitality preferred, or equivalent experience
- Three years minimum of hospitality industry sales experience; prefer convention bureau and / or convention hotel experience
- Strong and consistent ability to prioritize activities within specific time guideline and to handle multiple responsibilities within a specific time frame
- Willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on client and office demands
- Ability to operate computers, e-mail system and general office equipment including laptop computers when traveling away from office
- Valid private driver’s license
