Job Summary
National Account Executive to promote and sell the City of Minneapolis as a premier destination for conventions and meetings. Responsible for achieving annual definite room night goals (target 1,401+ peak room nights) and developing national association meeting opportunities. Key duties include prospecting for new business, managing account activity and bids, coordinating site inspections and familiarization tours, utilizing databases (iDSS and MINT), delivering sales presentations, building professional relationships with meeting planners and hospitality partners, and traveling as needed. The role supports hybrid work from Minneapolis HQ or remote/home office in the DC, MD, VA region, requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and involves participation in industry associations and events. Proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office, ability to travel to client sites and trade shows, and willingness to work flexible hours are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree preferred
- minimum of five years hospitality industry sales experience
- extensive experience selling to Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia markets is highly preferred
- valid driver’s license
