Job Summary
Provide students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Responsibilities include applying knowledge of subjects, curriculum, and instruction; managing student behavior; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and contributing to lesson planning and assessment through at least one year of student teaching or an approved internship. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for the assigned subject/grade level; compliance with NCLB Highly Qualified requirements; and CPR/first aid/AED certification as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/grade level assigned
- Meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Highly Qualified Teacher requirements for subject/grade level assigned
- CPR, first aid and AED certification may be required (ex. PE, Marching Band)
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
