Required Qualifications

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, museum studies, Native American studies, or other cognate field, and 2+ years of related museum collections work experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel, and demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with both colleagues and the public
  • Experience working independently and with a team
  • Knowledge of archaeological methods and practices
  • Knowledge of prehistory and history of western North America

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in anthropology, archaeology, museum studies, Native American Studies, or other cognate field
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with NAGPRA regulations
  • Experience working with Native American nations and communities

Additional Requirements

  • Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
