Job Summary
NACE/AMPP Level 2 Coatings Inspector sought to provide third‐party coatings inspection support for Defence maritime sustainment projects. Responsibilities include surface preparation inspections, coating inspections, DFT measurements, documentation review, reporting, and coordination with project stakeholders. Role involves liaising with supervisors, crews, contractors, and client representatives; preparing inspection reports; maintaining records; and participating in quality, safety, and OQE audits. Requires accreditation (NACE Level 2 / AMPP CIP Level 2), minimum 3 years coatings inspection experience, and certifications such as Confined Space Entry, Working Safely at Heights, and White Card. A valid driver’s licence, strong IT skills (Excel/email), and effective communication are essential. Australian citizenship is preferred and an Australian resident visa is required; National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical with drug/alcohol screening are required.
Required Qualifications
- Current NACE Level 2 / AMPP CIP Level 2 accreditation
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant coatings inspection experience
- Defence experience preferred
- Confined Space Entry certification
- Working Safely at Heights certification
- White Card
- Current driver’s licence
- Good understanding of specifications, ITPs and product Technical Data Sheets
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Excel and email)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to liaise professionally with multiple contractors and stakeholders
- Must hold an Australian resident visa as a minimum requirement; Australian citizenship is preferred
- National Police Clearance within 30 days
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
