Job Summary
Provide patient care under a licensed nurse's direction by collecting health data, assisting with activities of daily living such as hygiene and ambulation, and maintaining infection control precautions. Prioritize care to recognize emergency needs, document fluid intake, output, and vital signs per care plans, and ensure a safe environment by cleaning food refrigerators weekly and managing unit inventory daily. Obtain patient heights and weights, assist with transfers using appropriate techniques, and proactively identify risks to reduce medical errors. Maintain dignity for each patient while participating in team learning and reporting incidents.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- AHA CPR certification obtained within 60-days of hire
- MOAB class required within 60 days of hire
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification required
- A minimum of 75 hours in an accredited nursing program to include completion of first rotation
- Active EMT or Paramedic Certification
- Active Patient Care Technician/Assistant Certification
- Active Home Health Aide Certification
- Successful completion of a Nurse Aide program
- previous Massachusetts CNA licensure for Nurse Aide or equivalent from out of state
- 1 year experience in a long term care facility
