Job Summary
Escort patients to exam rooms, verify demographics, and document sensitive information in the electronic health record. Obtain and record vital signs, register patients for portals, and provide education on system usage. Conduct pre-visit planning by calling patients to review history, confirm insurance eligibility, and schedule follow-ups. Perform clinical tasks including pill counts, drug screenings, finger stick A1c tests, and blood draws after appropriate training. Maintain laboratory equipment, calibrate machines, and ensure daily sterilization of instruments and exam rooms. Manage patient outreach by contacting individuals with lab results and specialist findings, while assisting with scheduling, medication refills, and answering clinical inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or G.E.D.)
- Valid CNA License in the state of West Virginia or experience as a PCA
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to operate a variety of medical equipment such as EKG and Autoclave machines
- Ability to see information in print and/or electronically
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
- Ability to see information in print and/or electronically
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to hear
- Ability to reach
- Ability to talk
- Ability to work at any facility
- Responsibility for own transportation
- Ability to work based on operational need
- Ability to experience traumatic situations including psychiatric, dismembered and deceased patients
