Job Summary
Bionews is seeking columnists from the myelofibrosis community to write personal essays that inform and inspire. The role requires fulfilling weekly deadlines and submitting 400-800 word drafts. Candidates should have prior writing experience and direct involvement with myelofibrosis as either a patient or caregiver. Essential skills include creative writing, time management, and the ability to learn independently. Columnists will work closely with editors to refine their content.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience with writing for an audience
- At least three months’ direct experience with having or caring for someone with myelofibrosis
- Caregivers must be direct relatives, guardians, or spouses
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in being professionally edited for publication
- Experienced in generating a blog or column
- Participation in support groups, internet forums, or community groups relevant to myelofibrosis
- Experience in using WordPress for content creation
- Experience with the Slack communication app
Additional Requirements
- Must be a member of the myelofibrosis community (patient preferred)
