Job Summary

Present and available within assigned areas to capture and support My Medicine Health patient prescription requests. Collaborate with patients and providers to identify referred patients for the MMH Program, pursue new enrollments, and facilitate the coordination of prescriptions sent to BMC outpatient pharmacy for processing, adjudication, error resolution, and final dispensing. Follow established workflows to initiate or continue delivery of medication regimens, complete medication reconciliation using electronic medical records, and initiate patient outreach and billing. Act as an ambassador for MMH Services by maintaining a positive disposition, ensuring accurate prescription tasks are reviewed before dispensing, and providing feedback to improve the patient experience. Immediately report issues to the MMH Pharmacist or Ambulatory Care Program Manager and develop relationships with clinic teams to establish program value.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy
  • Must have national certification (CPT) from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT)
  • Minimum of 4 years outpatient pharmacy as a Tech I or Tech II or equal experience
  • Ability to speak the English language, read, interpret and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy and dependability
  • Strong math skills required; ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, including being able to perform general mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios & proportions)
  • Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Comprehension of pharmacy law and Board regulations
  • Must maintain the required level of competency to perform the essential duties and responsibilities
  • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
  • Must complete a background check before beginning their employment at the hospital
