Job Summary
Deliver person-centered, hands-on recovery support to pregnant and postpartum individuals by providing individual face-to-face services in clients' homes, communities, or agency offices. Accompany clients to behavioral health, medical, and social service appointments, advocate for appropriate care, and educate them on harm reduction techniques. Serve as a role model, mentor, and advocate to prevent relapse, while utilizing a trauma-informed approach to promote self-determination and safety. Become a certified Narcan responder to dispense kits and train clients on proper procedures. Coordinate services through collaboration with Maternal Wraparound staff and providers, and participate in community outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate – Provisional (CRPA-P) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) with 5,000 of the required 6,000 hours for CASAC credential completed (must be exam-ready with all but 1,000 or less work experience hours left to complete)
- Lived experience with substance use recovery for CRPA
Desired Qualifications
- Lived experience in substance use recovery preferred for CASAC-T
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree
- Experience working with pregnant or postpartum individuals highly preferred
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
