Job Summary

Lead a regional team of Senior Power Systems Technicians overseeing product-level commissioning of SolBank systems, string inverters, MV Skids, and associated medium-voltage equipment across Canada, the United States, and Latin America. Manage workload allocation, coaching, and performance metrics while establishing and monitoring safety compliance indicators. Direct MV switching activities up to 34.5kV, including safe isolation, grounding, LOTO, energization, and de-energization, acting as the escalation point for technical and safety matters. Develop and improve commissioning procedures, testing practices, and documentation standards to support equipment startup, troubleshooting, and client handover. Ensure adherence to CSA, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and local utility codes. Requires extensive experience with utility-scale BESS and substations, demonstrated leadership in technical teams, and ability to travel to project sites for commissioning and operational milestones.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with medium-voltage electrical systems, typically up to 34.5kV, within utility-scale infrastructure, renewable energy, BESS, substations, power generation, or comparable environments
  • Demonstrated experience performing, supervising, or authorizing MV switching activities, including isolation, grounding, LOTO, energization, and safe work planning
  • Experience in commissioning and operational, maintenance, or field-service environments
  • Experience leading electrical technicians, commissioning personnel, field-service teams, or other technically qualified personnel
  • Strong understanding of North American electrical safety codes and standards, including CSA, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and local utility requirements
  • Experience supporting commissioning, energization, operations, maintenance, or field service activities for complex electrical systems
  • Experience developing or implementing electrical safety procedures, switching procedures, permits, risk assessments, method statements, or operating standards
  • Degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering, power systems, electrical technology, or a related field
  • Ability to travel to project sites across the Americas as required, particularly during commissioning, energization, switching activities, and major operational milestones
