Job Summary
Musicianship Lead responsible for delivering a year-round programme of high-quality musicianship and music theory within Young Musicians Studio and Young Performers Studio, developing a curriculum with the Development Lead, directing ensembles, providing guidance to children, staff, and parents, and participating in team meetings and planning. Requires DBS Enhanced Clearance, ability to work evenings/weekends, and a part-time schedule in a permanent role. Pro rata salary listed (£34,180 per annum) with pension contributions; position based in Leeds, UK with in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Solid classical music training
- High level of musical skill and literacy
- Experience as musicianship tutor or music classroom teacher
- Understanding of musical pedagogy for classroom learning (beginners to advanced)
- Knowledge of musicianship skills and theory for children and youths
- Knowledge of Kodaly music practice or willingness to develop
