Job Summary
Provides individual and group creative arts therapy services to students with developmental disabilities in a NYC school program, using modalities such as art therapy, music therapy, dance/movement therapy, or drama therapy. Develops and implements treatment plans aligned with each student’s IEP and collaborates with educators, clinicians, and support staff to promote student well-being and participation in the educational environment. Conducts assessments, documents services and maintains clinical records, participates in IEP development and reviews, and ensures therapeutic interventions promote emotional expression, social interaction, self-regulation, and developmental progress. Maintains licensure and continuing education, adheres to safety and infection control procedures, and contributes to a multidisciplinary team. Master’s degree preferred; NYSED CAT license and ATCB board certification preferred; opportunity to earn competitive benefits and professional growth with ADAPT Community Network.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- NYSED CAT license preferred
- Board Certification by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB)
- Accredited by the American Art Therapy Association or another acceptable accrediting agency, preferred
- Experience: One year preferred, particularly with children with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in English; strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity
