Job Summary

Conduct credentialed therapeutic in-home one-on-one music therapy services for children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities using music as a tool for habilitation, rehabilitation, and behavioral management. Establish treatment goals, monitor progress, and maintain case files while ensuring adherence to Division for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities rules and agency policies. Initiate contact with individuals, families, and providers to perform consultative visits and accommodate schedules in planning meetings. Utilize a company-issued tablet for work activities and complete all program-related documentation. Requires AMTA-approved program, active CBMT certification, two years of experience with developmental disabilities, and a valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record. Flexible part or full-time hours with reimbursement for travel time and mileage.

Required Qualifications

  • AMTA (American Music Therapy Association) approved (Masters or Bachelors) program and completion of clinical training including internship
  • Active Board Certification for Music Therapy by CBMT (Certification Board of Music Therapists)
  • Ability to maintain necessary training, certifications and licensure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position
  • Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work
  • Valid Colorado driver license/Proof of auto vehicle insurance
  • Must meet driving requirements: no suspensions/revocations in the past three (3) years and no more than two (2) tickets in the past three (3) years
  • Must be willing to drive to appointments within the Aurora and Denver Metro area

Desired Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience or related education or training in working with persons who have developmental disabilities, preferred
  • Working knowledge of the developmental disabilities system, rules and regulations, preferred
