Job Summary
Teach lessons aligned to California VAPA Content Standards in Music, providing sequential instruction using discipline-specific techniques for instrumental, vocal, and theory skills. Develop and support partnerships with community organizations to enrich VAPA education while collaborating with staff to plan performances and showcases. Establish student behavior standards, adapt curriculum through scaffolded lessons, and report progress to teachers and parents each trimester. Maintain professional competence through service education activities and coordinate instructional assistants. Available Monday through Friday at a local San Diego to San Francisco school.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 2+ years of practical/professional experience in area of music concentration
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
- Provide a clear TB test
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance on file with HR (for employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work purposes)
- Must be available for the entire shift schedule

- Successful experience teaching in grades TK-8
