Job Summary

Develop and deliver vocal and/or instrumental music instruction for elementary through high school students, including classes and production groups of up to 14 students. Coordinate class schedules with school administration and support music programming during school hours, with occasional after-school and weekend productions. Collaborate with teacher specialists to align music curriculum with state academic standards and use a multidisciplinary approach by working with staff to support students' behavioral and cognitive needs. Plan and oversee student performances, including organizing productions, creating promotional materials, and communicating with families to coordinate volunteers. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, supervision sessions, and assist with school events and other assigned duties. Join the Bridgeport School team in Culver City starting early August for the 2026-2027 school year.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Education or a related field
  • Special Education credential is preferred; or the ability to qualify for an Intern Credential Provisional Internship Permit or Short-Term Staff Permit
  • Relevant experience in vocal and/or instrumental music instruction
  • At least 5 years of experience teaching music to children in individual, group, or classroom settings
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children with special needs
  • Knowledge of positive behavior management strategies and the ability to follow supervisory guidance
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and computer skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience producing or directing children's musical performances
