Job Summary
Conduct individual and group instruction in music theory, history, and appreciation while planning lessons aligned with student learning objectives. Lead students in rehearsals and performances, assess progress, and select appropriate repertoire for learning and festivals. Provide feedback on techniques across instruments including Piano, Guitar, Violin, vocals, and drums. Maintain professional development to stay current with teaching methods. Required Qualifications
- Certification or licensures as a music teacher, depending on the state and level at which they are teaching
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments
- Strong understanding of music theory, history, and appreciation
- Experience teaching music, either through internships or prior teaching positions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey musical concepts and techniques to students
- Patience and the ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels
- Creativity and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a variety of settings
- A passion for music and the ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical skills
