Job Summary
Deliver engaging, high-quality music instruction aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum, planning lessons with clear, measurable learning objectives for Grades K–8. Assess student progress regularly, maintain accurate grades and report cards, and foster artistic growth through music literacy, vocal and instrumental performance, and disciplined practice. Collaborate with fellow Specials teachers and the Assistant Director, while implementing the school's assertive discipline model to maintain a structured classroom environment. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events, performing additional duties as assigned by administration. This full-time, school-year position requires a Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education, successful completion of MTEL examinations within one year, and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse student needs within a 200-day academic year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Successful completion of all required MTEL examinations within one year of employment
